William “Bill” Harvey, 84, passed away on Veterans Day, November 11, 2023 at Deaconess Hospital. He was born and raised in Evansville where he attended Bosse High School and UE and later graduated from USI. Bill spoke passionately of his time flying jets in the US Air Force. He was a true salesman and always had a joke or funny saying to share. In the community, Bill was known as the “Thank You Guy”, always appreciative of even the smallest gesture.
Bill was preceded in death by parents John and Cova (Wilson) Harvey. He is survived by loving wife of 58 years, Sherry (Bombe); daughters, Lori Cook (Randy) of Frisco, TX, Wendy Harvey of Maui, HI, and Amanda Harvey of Evansville; grandchildren, Ryan Cook, Tessa Bagwill, Roman Bratch, and Weston Cook; sister, Joyce Suman (Gerry) of Arvada CO; niece, Jamie Simon (Preston); nephews, Tony Suman (Kim) and John Suman (Julia); and six great nieces and nephews.
Bill was laid to rest beside his parents in Oak Hill Cemetery in a private family service officiated by Pastor Dewey Miller of Central United Methodist Church.
A celebration of life will be held from noon to 3:00 Sunday, December 3 at 2518 Leisure Lane, Evansville, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bill’s honor to the Vanderburgh Humane Society or Central United Methodist Church, 300 Mary St, Evansville, IN 47710. More information can be found at .
