Nancy Jane Martin Hast, 87, of Evansville, Indiana, born March 30, 1936, to Lester and Wilhelmene (Allen) Wilson in Cynthiana, Indiana, passed away, Friday, November 17, 2023 at North River Health Campus of Evansville, Indiana.
She graduated from Cynthiana High School in 1954. She owned and operated, with her friend Dody Kelley, the “Our Place” restaurant in Cynthiana, Indiana from 1972 to 1975 then worked as a lab technician at General Electric in Mt. Vernon, Indiana for 18 years retiring in 1993. She attended Memorial Baptist Church in Evansville, Indiana. She loved cooking and baking for others, living in the country being one with the wildlife, tending her flower gardens and yard, family gatherings, holidays, bird watching and trips to Harmonie State park and Brown County State Park. She loved the Lord Jesus, her church, family and friends.
Surviving are her sons: Timothy Allen Martin (Marcia) and Christopher Todd Martin (Kimberly) both of Cynthiana, Indiana; step children: Donald Joe Hast (Kathrin) and Cindy Naab (Charlie) both of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; sister-in-law: Mary Rita Wilson; grandchildren: Katie Mayes, Todd Martin, Spenser Martin, Adam Martin, Jessie Mae Wagner and Mallory Adams; 10 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Donald Hast; daughter: Myra Anne Potts; brothers: James Patrick Wilson and John Wilson along with sisters: Joanie Sweezer and Geraldine Rogers.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2023, at the Werry Funeral Home in Poseyville, Indiana with burial to follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Poseyville, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time, Monday, November 20, 2023, at the funeral home.
