Ruth Marie Orman, 95, of Evansville, passed away peacefully at Solarbron Terrace on Thursday, November 16, 2023.

Ruth was born January 27, 1928 in Evansville to the late Matthew and Eleanor (Paul) Guetling. She was a 1946 graduate of FJ Reitz High School; worked at the University of Southern Indiana as a custodian before retiring in 1995 and was a longtime member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Ruth was an active volunteer with the St. Anthony Soup Kitchen and Simpson United Methodist Food Pantry and a member of VFW Post #1114 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, playing Bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving Ruth are two daughters, Barbara Tungate (Mike Foust) and Rebecca Diamond (Larry); grandchildren, Robyn Rentchler (Lance), Chris Orman (Lauren), Brandon Robb (Betsy), Ryan Tungate and Tyler Tungate (Carla) and great grandchildren, Haley Grubbs, Madison Grubbs and Adilynn Robb.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, August Orman in 2018; two sons, James Orman and Ron Orman; by a sister, Patricia Wolf and brothers, Victor and Marvin “Bud” Guetling.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Rev. Bill Nicholas officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at Corpus Christi Church, 5528 Hogue Road, Evansville, IN 47712.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of the Solarbron Terrace for all of their kind and compassionate care over the last seven years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Anthony Catholic Church Soup Kitchen, 713 N. Second Ave, Evansville, IN 47710.
