North's Kaleb Harris voted SW Indiana fans' choice midseason football player of the year

EVANSVILLE — North High School senior Kaleb Harris has won the fan vote for the Southwestern Indiana Midseason High School Football Player of the Year.

Harris, a defensive standout, garnered 109,505 votes of the 267,885 cast (40.9%) to win a battle with Southridge's Noah Wright, who also received plenty of support with 104,798 votes (39.1%).

There were 25 nominees on the ballot, mostly from the Southern Indiana Athletic Conference and Pocket Athletic Conference. Note: The result of this poll will not impact who the Courier & Press names as its All-Metro and All-Southwestern Indiana Players of the Year after the season.

Harris has played a key role in North's 4-2 start this season. He's been a force on the defensive line, notching 15.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks, as well as two forced fumbles. He also has a receiving touchdown on offense.
